Uniforms and Etiquette

Sea Scouts are expected to arrive with the appropriate uniforms and be familiar with the standards of conduct observed throughout Summer Port. Different activities and ceremonies call for different uniforms, so participants should be prepared for both everyday activities and formal occasions.

Activity Uniform

Worn during arrival, departure, and designated activities. Includes navy-blue shorts or pants, a Sea Scout-related shirt, appropriate belt, closed-toe shoes, and Sea Scout headgear.

Dress Blue Field Uniform

Required for designated ceremonies and events, including Ensign's mast, christening, commissioning, decommissioning, and Landship activities. Participants should bring their complete Dress Blue Field Uniform with appropriate insignia.

Manners & Etiquette

Courtesy, respect, and proper ceremonial conduct are important parts of the Summer Port experience. Participants should review the expectations for addressing staff and Port Officers, saluting, and participating in formal ceremonies.

Color Guard Preparation

Color guard ceremonies are an important part of daily life at Summer Port. Participants should familiarize themselves with the commands and procedures for hoisting and dousing the colors before arriving, as color guard teams begin on Day 1.

Review both guides to understand the sequence of commands, proper movements, saluting, and handling of colors.
